The iMali Agribusiness Challenge supports young Rwandan entrepreneurs building businesses in agriculture and agribusiness. The award was presented in Kigali on 24 October 2025 to our founder, David Tuyishime.

What won the judges over

Our founder, David Tuyishime, presented how A-Z Manufacturing designs and builds affordable agricultural and agro-processing machines in Rwanda: flour mills, chaff cutters, Sombe (cassava leaves) machines, poultry equipment and the Smart Uhira solar-powered smart irrigation system. These help farmers and cooperatives reduce labour, cut post-harvest losses and add value to their crops locally, instead of relying on imported machinery.

What this award means

The award will help A-Z Manufacturing scale up production of locally made agricultural machines, reach more farmers and cooperatives, and continue training young technicians through A-Z Academy.

Why programmes like iMali matter

• They connect young agribusiness entrepreneurs with mentors, investors and partners.
• They help turn practical, local solutions into businesses that can grow.
• They support Rwanda's goal of a modern, productive agriculture sector driven by youth.

We are grateful to the Imbuto Foundation and all partners of the iMali Agribusiness Challenge for this recognition and support.
